Kayak High School
The New River Academy is The Academy of Huge Experiences. Students learn a college-prep high school curriculum in a unique environment
centered around kayaking.
Instead of only learning about foreign cultures and languages from a book, students learn first-hand in another country
Study on the banks of the world's most beautiful rivers, then kayak them with our whitewater kayak school!
Huge Experiences teen development whitewater kayak programs are developed by educators and led by professionals in kayak instruction. Each program places an emphasis on safety, cultural education, media relations, social and leadership development, and whitewater kayak instruction.
New River Academy seeks world class kayak destinations and employs professional educators. It is our goal that each student leaves our program with the attitude of, “that was the trip of my life, and I learned so much.” Additionally, we strive to communicate specifics of our program via multimedia articles and photo reports, personal development follow-up letters, and personal email and phone contacts to parents regarding progress.
